China's Inner Mongolia plants over 260,000 hectares of crops

HOHHOT, April 26 (Xinhua) -- North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has planted about 267,000 hectares of crops this year, according to the local agriculture and animal husbandry department.

The autonomous region has carried out popularization and training of standardized planting techniques for soil, fertilizer, and water, providing guidance in new technologies and equipment for farmers.

The department also organized experts to record videos on key planting technologies of corn, wheat, and other crops and conducted online training for farmers.

As a major grain producer in China, the autonomous region mainly grows wheat, rice and corn. The total planting area of crops in the autonomous region is expected to exceed 8.67 million hectares this year. Enditem
