BAGHDAD -- A Chinese team of medical experts left Baghdad on Sunday, heading to China after 50 days of hard work of supporting the Iraqi health system to contain the COVID-19 epidemic.

At a farewell ceremony held at Baghdad International Airport, Iraqi Minister of Transport Abdullah Luaibi, thanked the Chinese team and offered bouquets for them for their efforts, expressing appreciation for China's assistance to help Iraq to tackle COVID-19. (Iraq-China)

ANKARA -- The Turkish health minister on Sunday confirmed 2,357 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number in the country to 110,130.

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Health Ministry on Sunday reported 1,153 new COVID-19 cases and 60 more deaths over the past 24 hours, state TV reported.

With the Sunday announcement, the total number of the infected cases and the death toll rose to 90,481 and 5,710 respectively in the country, said Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education during his daily updates. RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia and China signed on Sunday a deal for expanding coronavirus testing capacity.

The deal not only highlights the tradition and commitment of mutual assistance between China and Saudi Arabia, but also represents a good start for the further development of health care cooperation between the two countries, said Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Chen Weiqing at a signing ceremony held in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.
