China's biggest vinegar manufacturer posts mild rise in profit

BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Jiangsu Hengshun Vinegar Industry Co., the country's biggest vinegar producer, posted a mild increase in its net profit for the first quarter of the year.

Net profit reached 75.92 million yuan (about 10.85 million U.S. dollars) from January to March, up 3.69 percent year on year, according to a statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Business revenue edged up 0.35 percent year on year to 466 million yuan, while earnings per share was 0.0969 yuan.

The company's shares surged over 30 percent during the period.

Founded in 1840, the company is headquartered in the city of Zhenjiang, east China's Jiangsu Province. Its products include vinegar, soy sauce, pickles, complex seasonings, flavorings, grain and oil products, beverages, wine, and health food. Enditem
