BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
OCEAN SATELLITE DATA
A live system of ocean satellite data archive and distribution has been launched in China, according to China Natural Resources News on Thursday.
The massive ocean satellite data system, developed by the National Satellite Ocean Application Service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, has received 838 registered users and distributed data to 161 organizations.
Users can check the daily, weekly and monthly archives and distribution of ocean satellite data on the WeChat account of the National Satellite Ocean Application Service.
NEW INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
China's new infrastructure development strategy is expected to accelerate the growth of the country's data centers, according to Thursday's Science and Technology Daily.
"The new infrastructure development brought great opportunities to the data center field," said Cao Junwei, deputy director with the Research Institute of Information Technology of Tsinghua University.
SATELLITE NAVIGATION INDUSTRY
China's satellite navigation industry keeps growing, as the number of the BeiDou terminal products put into use increased by 20 percent last year.
The data was released Thursday at the launch of a platform, initiated by 12 Chinese centrally-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) for the collaborative development with the fast-growing industry.
The newly-launched platform will focus on improving innovation, competitiveness and influence of the industry, with more advanced technologies and products as well as business models. Enditem
