BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

UPGRADED TRACKING VESSEL

China's upgraded tracking vessel Yuanwang-6 is sailing to the Pacific Ocean from a port in east China's Jiangsu Province Wednesday for multiple maritime missions of spacecraft monitoring.

Yuanwang-6, commissioned in April 2008, represents the third generation of the country's Yuanwang space-tracking ships. After completing a monitoring mission of the Chang'e-4 relay satellite in July 2018, the vessel has undergone maintenance and maritime calibration tests.

PATCH FOR WOUND HEALING

Chinese researchers have developed a type of microalgae-gel patch to help the chronic wound healing of diabetic patients.

The researchers found that the patch carried over 100 times more oxygen into the mice's skin than the traditional oxygen therapy, according to their recent research article published in the journal Science Advances.

ENCYCLOPEDIA ON BIG DATA

Publisher Science Press announced on Monday the publication of the encyclopedia "Big Data Terminology," the world's first multilingual encyclopedia on big data.

The book, compiled by the Big Data Strategy Laboratory, covers nine terminology frameworks on big data, including the basics, strategy, technology, economy, finance, governance, standards, security and law. It includes 5,692 big data terms of which more than 10 percent are new words with Chinese original features. The book also provides a multilingual comparison of big data terminology in 11 major languages. Enditem
