BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Beijing on Friday issued an implementation plan for boosting elderly care services in the capital city, according to the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.

The plan has defined the objectives of basic elderly care service and highlighted the basic function of public nursing institutions for the aged. By the end of 2022, at least one district-level public nursing institution for senior citizens will have been established in each district of Beijing.

The plan proposes building a convenient home- and community-based elderly care service system. By the end of 2022, no fewer than 350 care centers for the aged in sub-districts and townships and no fewer than 1,200 community-based elderly care service stations will have been built.

Social forces will be encouraged to help build a support platform for community-based elderly care service stations.

From 2020 to 2022, Beijing will train 10,000 elderly care workers, 500 heads of elderly care service institutions and 500 social workers for the elderly service every year.

The plan also proposes implementing preferential tax policies to reduce the tax burden on elderly care services. Enditem
