NINGBO, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Ningbo, a city of east China's Zhejiang Province, recently launched a program to transform open space under overpasses into sports parks.
Such transformation saw its first product recently as the Panhuo Sports Park, formerly a vacant, wasted land, has gone into operation covering an area of more than 9,000 square meters.
The park includes badminton courts, basketball courts and a football field, as well as a square.
Data shows that the current utilization rate of park has reached about 60% and the average number of daily visitors is around 200.
The city plans to build two more such sports parks in the future. Enditem
