BEIJING, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Procurators in Beijing said on Friday they have indicted six suspects for robbing an ancient tomb, dating back to the middle and late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

In October of 2018, a forest fire inspector discovered more than 10 large pits on a mountain in the Shijingshan district of Beijing, with ancient bricks and porcelain fragments in one of the tombs.

Following a clue, Beijing police nabbed six suspected tomb raiders between October of 2019 and April this year.

Experts believe the ransacked tomb was a family cemetery dating back to the middle and late Qing Dynasty and had high archaeological value.

The robbers damaged the original porcelain bowl decoration on the inner wall of the tomb, which was an important part of the tomb structure. Enditem
