TEHRAN -- Iran reported 2,095 new cases over the past 24 hours, taking the total confirmed novel coronavirus cases to 175,927 on Tuesday, according to official IRNA news agency.

Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said during his daily update on Tuesday that 72 people died overnight, taking the total fatalities over the virus to 8,425. (Iran-COVID-19)

CAIRO -- Egypt's electricity and energy minister announced on Tuesday a new increase in electricity prices ranging from 17 to 30 percent based on consumption.

"The new prices will be applied on July 1, the first day of the fiscal year 2020-2021," Minister of Electricity and Energy Mohammed Shaker said in a press conference. (Egypt-Electricity)

JERUSALEM -- Israel's Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down as "unconstitutional" a law allowing Israel to confiscate Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank.

A nine-justice panel ordered to cancel the Settlements Regulations Law, under which some 4,000 settler homes constructed on privately-owned land in the West Bank could be retroactively legalized. Eight judges voted in favor of rejecting the law and one against it. (Israel-Settlements Law) Enditem
