BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League (CSL) side Beijing Guoan is planning to get its coach Bruno Genesio and five overseas players back to China, as the 2020 CSL campaign may restart in July.

Current restrictions on international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic have meant that many overseas citizens are currently unable to travel to China.

However, Dalian Pro head coach Rafa Benitez and his club's three overseas players have returned to China by chartered plane, and Guangzhou Evergrande's Brazilian midfielder Paulinho also flew back on a chartered plane.

Beijing Guoan will follow Dalian Pro and Guangzhou Evergrande's lead and hope to get Genesio and its overseas players back to China in July, according to a source close to the club.

Guoan has conducted nucleic acid tests for COVID-19 on all members of its team, with all the results having come back negative.

The 2020 Chinese Super League campaign, which was slated to start on February 22, has been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with a July restart having been mooted. Enditem
