China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (U.S. routes) fluctuates

NINGBO, June 21 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a fluctuation in freight indices in the U.S. routes.
The NCFI, reflecting freight rate changes of 21 routes departing from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, stood at 732.6 points Friday, down 0.7 percent compared with last week.
The sub-reading for the east and west coast of the United States quoted 1,146.3 points and 1,572.1 points, up 2.2 percent and down 3.8 percent from last week, respectively.
According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, as the shipping capacity on the route to the west coast of the United States increased recently, the market freight rate dropped this week, while the shipping space on the route to the east coast is still tight, and most liner companies maintain the market freight rates.
