QINGDAO, China, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Kyle Fogg got 24 points, five assists and four steals on Friday, helping the Beijing Royal Fighters edge the Shanxi Loongs 106-98 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

In the first quarter, both sides played good offense and made several fast breaks.

A series of jump shots and layups from the Royal Fighters' overseas players widened their lead to ten points in the second quarter, giving them a 58-47 advantage at the end of the first half.

With three straight Yuan Shuai three-pointers, Shanxi tied the scores in the third quarter. However, the Royal Fighters got five points more to regain the lead after a time-out by coach Stephon Marbury.

Shanxi tried hard to come back into the game in the last quarter, only to see the Royal Fighters guard Fogg making a shot from downtown to maintain their advantage.

"It was a tough game today. We played back-to-back and Shanxi played a great game," said Marbury. "The players call me 'the Devil Coach' for our hard training sessions, but they are happy during the games for their good condition."

"We should keep more focus on every detail on court, as we got a third straight win today," said Royal Fighters center Sun Tonglin.

The Royal Fighters have now won three in a row and will face the Jilin Northeast Tigers on Sunday. Enditem
