Shanghai beat Guangzhou to end three-game CBA losing streak (updated)

QINGDAO, China, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Dong Hanlin collected 13 points and 11 rebounds on Friday, helping the Shanghai Sharks end a three-game losing streak with a 85-75 win over the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.

Dong and Zhang Zhaoxu dominated inside, helping Shanghai into a 48-30 lead by the first half. Guangzhou began to come back in the second half, launching a 15-7 run to narrow the gap to 11 points early in the fourth quarter, but Ray McCallum's score helped Shanghai maintain a double-digit lead to the end of the game.

Shanghai had five players in double-digits, with McCallum contributing 13 points.

After this game, the Sharks rank 16th in the league table with ten wins against 24 defeats.

"We are very excited to win the game after three losses. We rotated more players today, everyone did a great job to help us to win," said Shanghai head coach Manos Manouselis. "We will not give up and keep fighting this season, we will try our best every game, even if we won't make the playoffs."
