QINGDAO, China, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang Golden Bulls edged Guangzhou Loong Lions 111-107 by raining three-pointers for a three-game winning streak in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Monday.

Zhejiang continued with its all-domestic squad after the CBA restart while Marcus Georges-Hunt was the only foreign player for Guangzhou. Both sides tied time and time again at the beginning of the game before Zhejiang got the upper hand with several shots later and led the first period 29-19.

The gap was extended to 16 points midway through the second quarter as Zhu Xuhang continued his strong performance for Zhejiang, but Guangzhou managed to keep up with the pace and only trailed by 12 points at half time.

Guangzhou's Tian Yuheng grabbed 15 points in the third quarter, helping the team make an 8-0 run and trim the deficit to two points by the end of the period.

Guangzhou made an incredible comeback at the beginning of the last quarter at 83-81, but Zhejiang seized back control of the match with a 9-0 run from outside the three-point line and maintained its dominance till the end.

Zhu Xuhang, a rising star in the league, said his team did a good job in the first half and secured a comfortable halftime lead, but the team got too relaxed to be turned over in the third quarter.

"It taught us a lesson. We should come all-out for the whole game," Zhu said.

Tian Yuheng, who led Guangzhou in making the momentary comeback by scoring 15 points in a single quarter, said the team was proud to find its shots in the second half, but it was a pity that they lost their edge by making some mistakes in defense.

"Our opponents scored several key three-pointers because of our sloppy defense, which really hurt the team morale," Tian said.

Zhu Xuhang grabbed a game-high 28 points, Cheng Shuaipeng and Wu Qian made 25 and 16 points respectively.

Marcus Georges-Hunt led Guangzhou with 22 points, 13 rebounds and two assists, Tian Yuheng contributed 16 points and Guo Kai added 15.

On Tuesday, Zhejiang will face the Beijing Ducks, which Guangzhou will play on Wednesday. Enditem
