TEHRAN -- Iran's confirmed novel coronavirus cases rose to 225,205 on Monday after an overnight registration of 2,536 new infections, official IRNA news agency reported.

At her daily briefing, Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said out of the new cases in the past 24 hours, 14,061 have been hospitalized. (Iran-COVID-19)

CAIRO -- At least seven patients were killed and seven medical staff members wounded on Monday when a fire erupted in a private hospital in Egyptian northern coastal city of Alexandria, an official medical source told Xinhua.

"Firefighters extinguished a huge fire at the hospital that is likely caused by an electrical circuit malfunction," the source said on condition of anonymity. (Egypt-Fire-Hospital)

BEIRUT -- Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin that U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea's remarks on Hezbollah are considered a "clear incitement to strife," reported local al-Joumhouria newspaper.

TEHRAN -- Iran has filed a case with the Interpol to arrest a number of U.S. political and military officials "who were involved in the assassination" of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in January, Tehran Prosecutor General Ali Qasi Mehr said on Monday.
