QINGDAO, China, July 1 (Xinhua) -- With five players scoring over 10 points, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers won a blow-out 108-77 victory over the Shanghai Sharks in the resumed 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season here on Wednesday.

Upset by the bottom-placed Bayi Rockets on Tuesday, the second-ranked Xinjiang didn't repeat its mistakes in the match-up against Shanghai. They started 17-4 within five minutes into the game with the twin powers of Zhou Qi and Fan Ziming combining for 12 points, and led 32-12 into the second quarter.

Shanghai was sluggish in attacks as its leading scorers Li Gen was absent due to injuries, and the game ended early as a contest, as Xinjiang kept a 20-point-or-so advantage through the rest of the first half, and enlarged the gap to 30 points for the first time in the latter phase of the third.

The only blow for Xinjiang was an injury to the brow of the 207cm forward Yu Changdong after a clash against Cai Liang from Shanghai two minutes remaining in the first quarter. No further information on whether Yu will be away from the next game against Nanjing Monkey Kings on Friday.

The Chinese international Zhou Qi led in both points (25) and rebounds (15) while Fan Ziming also posted a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Shanghai will take on Qingdao Eagles on Thursday. Enditem
