QINGDAO, China, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Sun Minghui posted a balanced stat and led Zhejiang Lions to snap Liaoning Flying Leopards' two-game winning streak at 125-110, while Cheng Shuaipeng scored a career-high 43 points in Zhejiang Golden Bulls' 114-97 victory over Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday.

Sun scored 34 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out 10 assists. Hu Jinqiu, who was awarded the latest CBA Player of the Month, added 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Zhejiang Lions made the most of Liaoning's consecutive turnovers to convert fast breaks and three-pointers, grabbing a 36-23 lead in the first quarter.

Despite Liaoning coming back several times afterward, Zhejiang Lions held their nerve to win, making O.J. Mayo's match-high 37 points in vain for Liaoning. Guo Ailun contributed 22 points and five assists.

Cheng shot 16 of 22 from the field along with five rebounds, four assists and five steals. The 21-year-old guard's previous record was 39 points when taking on the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in December 2018.

Zhu Xuhang added 19 points and 10 boards for Zhejiang Golden Bulls. Liu Zeyi and Lu Wenbo had 18 and 15 points respectively.

Guo Yifei, Li Hongpeng and Qiao Wenhan combined for six three-pointers as Nanjing led 31-27 at the end of the first quarter.

After both sides tied 56-56 going into half-time, Cheng took care of the game by hitting three three-pointers and scoring 13 points in the third period.

Nanjing could not restrict Cheng's glittering performance in the final frame. Cheng converted successive layups in fast breaks to put the game beyond their opponents' reach.

Nanjing had five players scoring double figures. Qiao and Joseph Young contributed 19 points apiece.

The two Zhejiang sides will go head-to-head on Saturday.

Qingdao Eagles suffered their fifth successive league defeat, losing 126-83 to Shanghai Sharks.

Shanghai launched an 18-5 run through Luo Hanchen's three-pointer shooting performance and led 30-15 after the first quarter.

Ju Mingxin hit a driving layup to broaden Shanghai's gap to 25 points at the break. They faced little challenge from their opponents in the second half.

Ju collected 24 points and 12 rebounds. Ray McCallum added 20 points. Zhai Yi scored a team-high 20 points for Qingdao.

With five players scoring double-digits, Shanxi Loongs cruised past Tianjin Pioneers 97-79 to win their second game on the trot.

Tianjin only scored two points in the first six minutes. Yuan Shuai hit two three-pointers to help Shanxi lead by 25-18 in the first quarter. They launched a 7-0 run to extend the margin to 18 points at the interval. Tianjin failed to mount further resistance afterwards, seeing Shanxi sail to victory.

Beijing Royal Fighters held off Sichuan Blue Whale 78-73. Sun Yue led Beijing's charge with 24 points, while Sichuan forward Zuo Zhennian shot 9 of 14 to finish a game-high 26 points. Enditem
