QINGDAO, China, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Jiang Yuxing scored a game-high 23 points and five rebounds here on Friday, helping the Jilin Northeast Tigers beat the Shandong Heroes 91-80 in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season.

With the win, Jilin ended their four-game losing streak, while Shandong suffered its second straight loss.

Jilin coach Wang Han said that he was very happy with the rebounds. "We won the game because of our defense-driven fast breaks," Wang said.

After a close first half, Jilin led 42-41 when Sean Hill made the layup at the end of the second quarter, and executed excellent teamwork in the third period by enlarging the cushion to seven with a 7-0 run and keeping that advantage to the end of the game.

Sean Hill scored 21 points and eight rebounds, while Jiang Weize added 11 points for Jilin.

As for Shandong, Tao Hanlin collected a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Wang Ruheng had 14 points.

"We fought to the end, but we made too many mistakes and let them make a lot of fast breaks in the fourth quarter," said Zhang Hui, shooting guard for Shandong.

Shandong will play back-to-back games against the Shenzhen Aviators on Saturday night, while Jilin has a short break before facing the Xinjiang Flying Tigers on Tuesday. Enditem
