SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said on Monday that they launched missile and drone attacks toward the southwest of Saudi Arabia, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

The attacks targeted a military airport in Khamis Mushait city of Asir Region and an oil facility in the industrial area of Jizan Region, the television said, citing a statement by the Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea. (Yemen-Saudi Arabia-Houthi Attack)

DAMASCUS -- Russian warplanes on Monday struck positions of the Islamic State (IS) militant group in the desert region in eastern Syria, a war monitor reported.

The attack took place in the desert of the Sukhneh area in the remote eastern countryside of Homs Province amid renewed battles between the IS and the Syrian government forces, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Russia-IS-Syria)

ANKARA -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday discussed developments in Libya and Syria, Turkey's presidency said.
