QINGDAO, China, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks smashed the Guangzhou Loong Lions 105-81 in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Saturday, grabbing their eighth straight win.

With seven players getting on the scoreboard, Beijing built a 25-17 lead in the first quarter.

Although Jeremy Lin was benched for the most time of the following period, the Ducks still expanded the advantage to 16 points for a short time.

The Loong Lions rallied back and cut the deficit to eight when the first half ended, with center Zheng Zhun contributing 13 points in the second period, including three 3-pointers out of four.

After converting consecutive layups in fast breaks, Beijing enlarged the margin to over 20 points in the second half, putting the game beyond their opponents' reach.

Ekpe Udoh had a game-high 25 points and seven rebounds for Beijing, Lin took 18 points along with eight rebounds, while Liu Xiaoyu and Zhu Yanxi each had 12 points.

Si Kun and Tian Yuheng scored 16 points apiece for Guangzhou, Zheng finished with 15 points, and Sun Mingyang added 10 points.

"Although we met some difficulties in the first half, the players stuck to our plan and set the tone for the game," said Beijing acting coach Xie Libin.

"We got only six free throws compared to 30 for Beijing, which means our players weren't confident enough when facing a powerhouse like Beijing," said Ding Wei, coach of Guangzhou. Enditem
