RAMALLAH -- Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry at his office in the West Bank city of Ramallah, official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Abbas briefed Shoukry over the latest political developments in Palestine, with a focus on diplomatic efforts to prevent the possible Israeli move to annex areas of the West Bank and apply Israeli civil law on settlements in the occupied territory, said WAFA. (Palestine-Egypt-Ties)

CAIRO -- The Egyptian Parliament issued on Monday a mandate allowing the Egyptian president to send troops abroad to "protect national security."

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi on Monday postponed his official visit to the neighboring country of Saudi Arabia, as Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud had been admitted to the hospital.

A statement by his office said that al-Kadhimi received the news that "King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was exposed to an urgent health problem, and he subsequently was admitted to hospital for checkups." (Iraq-Saudi-Visit) Enditem
