BEIJING, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

RELAY SATELLITES FOR TIANWEN-1

China has completed the modification of two relay satellites to prepare them for new tasks relating to the country's scheduled Mars exploration mission Tianwen-1.

The Tianlian I-02 and Tianlian II-01 geosynchronous orbit satellites mainly provide global tracking and data-relay support for the country's in-orbit spacecraft.

NEW FINDINGS ON DARK ENERGY

Chinese scientists have reported new findings based on astronomical observations, providing novel evidence for the existence of dark energy in the cosmos.

The studies were released on Monday by the international collaboration of the eBOSS, the biggest ongoing galaxy survey in the world.

Based on the eBOSS observations, astronomers at the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NAOC) measured the history of cosmic expansion and structural growth in a huge volume in a past universe that was never probed before, corresponding to a distance range of between 0.7 and 1.8 billion light years away.

BIG DATA ON POLLUTION MONITORING

A big data system to monitor electricity consumption by pollution production and control equipment in enterprises has been put into operation in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.

Enterprises need to install the electric power monitoring device on both the pollution production and control equipment to conduct real-time data comparison and analysis.

The State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power and the Environmental Protection Agency of Hangzhou have installed the monitoring system on a trial basis among small and medium-sized enterprises in Hangzhou since April. Enditem
