Ducks ease past Royal Fighters in Beijing Derby for 11th straight CBA win (updated)

QINGDAO, China, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Ducks thrashed the Beijing Royal Fighters 102-86 in a derby in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Friday, taking 11 victories in a row.

Jeremy Lin scored nine points in a row in the first quarter and helped the Ducks build a 16-point lead.

The Royal Fighters fought back and outscored the Ducks in the following quarter by six points, as Arnett Moultrie contributed nine points in the period.

The Ducks continued their glittering performances to extend the advantage to 19 points in the third quarter and to over 20 points in the last one.

Lin got his 38th point just before the buzzer, setting a new record of single-game scoring in his CBA career and sealing the victory for the Ducks.

Fang Shuo and Ekpe Udoh each took 16 points for the Ducks, and Zhai Xiaochuan added nine.

Kyle Fogg got a team-high 23 points for the Royal Fighters, Moultrie finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds, and Sun Yue had 11 points.

"We played against a better team, but we didn't have enough focus. They came out and played how they needed to play to secure a top-four spot," said Stephon Marbury, coach of the Royal Fighters.
