BEIJING, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- With less than a year to go before the postponed Tokyo Olympic Games, China's national athletics team held a virtual jumping competition across eight cities on Friday and Saturday.

Four events - men's and women's long jump and triple jump - were contested, featuring some of the best jumpers from the national team and provincial sides.

In the men's long jump, Huang Changzhou shook off two foul jumps with a third jump of 8.08 meters to lead the field. He then improved to 8.18m with his following attempt, which was enough for him to beat Asian Games gold and silver medalists Wang Jianan and Zhang Yaoguang to take the win.

20-year-old Gong Luying clinched victory in the women's long jump with 6.47m despite an unstable performance on Saturday.

On Friday, Fang Yaoqing was victorious in the men's triple jump with 17.13m, while Li Ying took the women's crown with a jump of 13.70m on her final attempt. Enditem
