TEHRAN -- Iran's confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 309,437 on Sunday after an overnight registration of 2,685 new infections, official IRNA new agency reported.

Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said at her daily briefing that out of the new cases in the past 24 hours, 1,423 have been hospitalized. (Iran-COVID-19)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned a deal signed recently between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and a U.S. oil company to modernize the oil industry in areas controlled by the U.S.-backed SDF in northeastern Syria, the state news agency SANA reported.

"This agreement is considered an integrated and aggravated theft and can only be described as a deal between thieves who are stealing and thieves who are buying, constituting an assault against Syria's sovereignty," the ministry said in a statement. (Syria-Oil Industry-US Firm)

JERUSALEM -- Israel has launched a project to build a network of drones that deliver medicines and test samples to hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories all over the country amid the COVID-19 outbreak, as part of its examination of the national aerial regulation for urban cargo drones.

CAIRO -- Egypt expressed on Sunday solidarity with the neighboring Sudan after a recent Sudanese dam collapse destroyed hundreds of homes, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
