SANAA -- Rains and flash floods in Yemen completely destroyed four buildings and damaged 30 others in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage site of the Old City of Sanaa, residents told Xinhua on Sunday.

GAZA -- An Israeli artillery on Sunday shelled an observation point belonging to the Islamic Hamas movement in the eastern part of Dir al-Balah city in central Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian security sources.

The security sources told Xinhua that the Israeli attack came after Palestinian assailants fired toward Israeli construction works on the border fence of the coastal enclave. (Israel-Gaza)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi Deputy Minister of Health Hazim al-Jumaili said on Sunday that Iraq has yet to reach the peak of COVID-19 infections, as the total nationwide infections have climbed to 150,115.

"Iraq has not yet reached the peak of infections, while the daily coronavirus infections are still registering large numbers (sometimes) exceeding 3,000, and this indicates that the citizens are not abiding by the instructions of the Health Ministry and the High Committee for Health and National Safety," al-Jumaili told the official Iraqi News Agency (INA).
