SHENYANG, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- No new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in northeast China's Liaoning Province for the sixth straight day on Tuesday, the provincial health commission said Wednesday.

The province reported two new imported asymptomatic cases on Tuesday. One flew in from the United States to the provincial capital of Shenyang, while the other traveled by sea from the Philippines to the coastal city of Yingkou.

Five locally-transmitted cases and one asymptomatic case were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday after recovering, according to the commission.

By Tuesday, Liaoning had reported a total of 261 confirmed cases, including 37 imported ones. Two people had died, and 191 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery.

There are 12 asymptomatic cases still under medical observation, the commission said. Enditem
