SHANGHAI, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December 2020 delivery was up 2.76 yuan (about 40 U.S. cents) to close at 420.3 yuan a gram.
The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 421,148 lots, with a turnover of about 178.3 billion yuan.
