NANJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from more than 10 overseas Chinese media outlets began a reporting tour of east China's Jiangsu Province on Friday.

The event, sponsored by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, will focus on promoting the culture of the Grand Canal, the world's longest man-made waterway with a total length of 3,200 km.

Boasting a history of more than 2,500 years, the canal stretches from Beijing to Hangzhou in east China's Zhejiang Province, running through Jiangsu and several other regions.

The tour will take the journalists to the cities of Wuxi, Huaian, Suqian, and Nanjing to report on the economic and social development of the province. Enditem
