BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The following are the highlights of China's science news from the past week:

LUNAR PROBE

China's Chang'e-4 probe has survived more than 600 Earth days on the far side of the moon while conducting scientific explorations.

With a variety of scientific gear on board, the Chinese lunar probe observed and measured the exotic land, offering unprecedented views and understanding of the far side of the moon and beyond.

BIOPRINTING METHOD FOR GASTRIC WOUNDS

Chinese researchers have designed a new way of treating gastric wounds by using a microrobot that can conduct in vivo bioprinting.

Researchers from Tsinghua University put forward a new concept of "in situ in vivo bioprinting" and designed a microrobot that enters the body via an endoscope to carry out tissue repair.

MARINE TEST OF HY-1D SATELLITE

A marine observation test of China's newly launched ocean-monitoring satellite HY-1D has been completed. The experiment at sea is an important part of the in-orbit testing of the satellite, which has provided synchronous observation data for payload performance and product authenticity.

China launched the HY-1D on June 11. Together with the HY-1C satellite, launched in 2018, the HY-1D will form the country's first civil-use satellite constellation to increase its global observation coverage.

LOW-TEMPERATURE BATTERY

Chinese researchers have developed an aqueous electrolyte for zinc-based batteries that are capable of resisting low temperatures.

Developed by researchers from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the new aqueous zinc-based electrolyte has a high ionic conductivity at low temperatures. It consists of water, ethylene glycol and zinc sulfate.

DARK MATTER RESEARCH

An international team of researchers has used supercomputers in China and Europe to study the internal structures of the smallest clumps of dark matter in a computer-generated universe, which is expected to help scientists learn more about what dark matter is and its role in the evolution of the universe.

In the latest issue of Nature, the research team reported that the small dark matter halos have very similar internal structures to those of large and giant ones. Enditem
