HARBIN, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Typhoon Haishen, the 10th typhoon this year, will bring rain and wind to northeast China's Heilongjiang Province from Monday night until Wednesday, the provincial meteorological bureau said.

Heavy showers on Tuesday are expected to bring a total rainfall of 30 to 70 mm to the province's middle and eastern regions. Strong gales are also forecast to hit the province.

The impact of typhoon Maysak has ended, after it affected some 452,000 people in the province, according to the bureau.

The bureau said as continuous winds and rains are likely to cause more damage to areas affected by overlapping typhoons, it has issued special reports calling for ensuring good drainage, prevention of floods, and measures to reduce damage to crops.

Compared with other provinces in eastern and southern China, typhoons are less common in Heilongjiang. Enditem
