GUIYANG, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Authorities in southwest China's Guizhou have launched an emergency response due to heavy rainfall that may result in natural disasters.
The provincial meteorological administration said that 18 counties in Guizhou have experienced downpours since Wednesday morning, with four counties experiencing heavy rainstorms.
Continuous rain could easily cause natural disasters, such as flash floods, landslides and mudslides, according to the administration.
Local authorities have urged preparations for rescue efforts, the patrolling of high-risk areas, and the evacuation of residents in advance. Enditem
