CHANGCHUN, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Jilin, a province in northeast China, is embracing opportunities in the marine economy.

On Thursday, authorities unveiled a marine economy development demonstration area in the city of Hunchun, a border city of Jilin Province. The area is expected to become an important platform for Jilin to develop marine economy.

The area will enhance its connection with the provincial capital Changchun and cities in central China, and bolster cooperation with the port city of Ningbo in east China's Zhejiang Province.

Located at the junction of China, Russia, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Hunchun is 71 km away from the Russian port Zarubino. Enditem
