BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

BIG EARTH DATA

China's big Earth data project has been designated as a partner of a United Nations (UN) platform for sustainable development, the project's developer said on Tuesday.

The project will be dedicated to boosting the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with effective big Earth data technology.

LONG NAPS LINKED TO HEART DISEASE

Chinese researchers have found that daytime naps lasting more than 60 minutes may raise the risk of heart disease and death.

Researchers from Guangzhou Medical University analyzed more than 313,000 participants from more than 20 studies to examine the link between napping and potential health risks. About 39 percent of participants took naps.

AI PRINCIPLES FOR CHILDREN

Chinese institutions, universities and enterprises have jointly released principles governing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by children.
