SHANGHAI, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese E-sports team LGD Gaming beat Australian team Legacy Esports 3-0 to advance into the Group Stage of 2020 League of Legends World Championship (S10) here on Wednesday.
LGD had a terrible beginning in the Play-in Stage by suffering three consecutive losses to PSG, Talon, Esports, Rainbow7 and Unicorns of Love respectively, but later LGD eased past V3 Esports twice to make a comeback and smashed Rainbow7 3-0 in the BO5 (Best Of 5) game on Tuesday.
Since the other three Chinese (LPL) teams Suning, JD Gaming, Top Esports have already been categorized into A, B and D groups in advance, LGD will compete in Group C automatically according to the S10 regulation to avoid repetition of two teams from the same region.
"LGD caught a lot of attention. Though they had problems at the beginning, they know how to adjust themselves. The other three teams all have experienced coaches and managers. I think they will be in best condition for the following games," said Jin Yibo, co-CEO of Tencent Sports. Enditem
