Shandong to meet Tianjin in Chinese Women's Volleyball Championship final

JIANGMEN, South China, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Shandong entered the Chinese Women's Volleyball Championship final here on Thursday after beating Shanghai 3-1 (36-38, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18) in the semifinals.

Shanghai built a lead 6-1 at the start of the first set before Shandong strengthened their spiking and gradually narrowed the gap. After both sides traded the lead, Shanghai scored three points in a row to take the first set 38-36.

Shandong maintained their advantage in blocking and took the following two sets.

Shanghai's errors increased in the fourth set, allowing Shandong to sail into the finals.

"Our team did a good job in today's match because they could adjust themselves quickly after falling behind our opponents. In tomorrow's finals, We will give full play to what we have prepared," said Shandong head coach Li Yanlong.

Later on Thursday, Tianjin edged Jiangsu 3-2 (27-25, 20-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-10) to advanced to the final. Enditem
