Shanghai reports 4 new imported COVID-19 cases

SHANGHAI, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported four imported COVID-19 cases and no domestically transmitted cases on Friday, the municipal health commission said Saturday.

The four cases were two Chinese nationals, one Croatian, and one British. All the cases have been sent to designated medical institutions for treatment.

A total of 68 people in close contact with the patients on the same flights have been put under quarantine.

The municipal health commission said a total of 669 imported cases had been reported in Shanghai by Friday. Among them, 618 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 51 continued to receive treatment in hospital with one in severe condition.

By Friday, the municipality had reported 342 locally transmitted confirmed cases, including seven deaths. Enditem
