HONG KONG, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) on Wednesday reported 11 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, including three local cases of unknown origin.

The newly-reported cases were two imported cases and nine local infections, bringing Hong Kong's total tally to 5,143.

Of the local cases, three have an unknown source of infection, involving three staff members who worked for different pharmacies in Kowloon, Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the CHP's Communicable Disease Branch, said at a press briefing.

"We are seeing some cases with unknown sources increasing. It's a worrying situation, so we are afraid that there may be a rebound," Chuang said.

She said the number of new infections related to a bar cluster in Tsim Sha Tsui of Kowloon rose to nine, and there are about 10 cases preliminarily tested positive on Wednesday.

According to Hong Kong's Hospital Authority, 115 patients are still being treated in hospitals, including 10 in critical condition.

The number of deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong stands at 105. Enditem
