Shanghai reports 6 new imported COVID-19 cases

SHANGHAI, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported six imported COVID-19 cases and no domestically transmitted cases Thursday, the municipal health commission said Friday.

The six cases were four Chinese nationals, one Moroccan, and one American. All the cases have been sent to designated medical institutions for treatment, and a total of 141 people in close contact with the patients on flights have been put under quarantine.

The municipal health commission said a total of 694 imported cases had been reported in Shanghai by Thursday. Among them, 636 patients were discharged from hospital after recovery, and 58 continued to receive treatment in hospitals.

By Thursday, the municipality had reported 342 locally transmitted confirmed cases, including seven deaths. Enditem
