NINGBO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a sharp rise in freight indices in the Middle East routes.
NCFI, a wind vane of China's busiest port's freight rates for the international container shipping market, stood at 1,167.8 points on September, up 28.5 percent compared with last month.
The sub-reading for the Middle East quoted 1,087.3 points, up 35.1 percent compared with last month and up 148.9 percent year on year.
According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, during the peak season, the Middle East route market improved significantly, and the overall freight rate rose significantly.
