NINGBO, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a soar in freight indices in the South America routes.

The NCFI, reflecting freight rate changes of 21 routes departing from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, stood at 1,167.8 points in September, up 28.5 percent compared with last month.

The sub-reading for the east and west coast of the South America quoted 1,885.6 points and 1,741.4 points, up 122.9 percent and 121.9 percent from last month respectively and up 67.6 percent and 160.9 percent compared with the same period of last year.
