SHANGHAI, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai reported three imported COVID-19 cases and no locally-transmitted cases Wednesday, the municipal health commission said Thursday.

One of the cases, a Polish citizen, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Oct. 9 from Poland via Russia. The other two cases were sailors from Bangladesh and the Philippines who arrived in Shanghai for vessel repair on Oct. 9 and 10, respectively.

All of them have been sent to designated medical institutions for treatment. A total of 41 people in close contact with the patients have been put under quarantine.

The municipal health commission said 722 imported cases had been reported in Shanghai by Wednesday. Among them, 658 patients were discharged from the hospital after recovery, and 64 continued to receive treatment.

By Wednesday, the municipality had recorded 342 locally transmitted confirmed cases, including seven deaths. Enditem
