TOP 50 VR FIRMS

A list of China's top 50 virtual reality (VR) firms was unveiled at the 2020 World Conference on the VR Industry, which opened on Monday in Nanchang, east China's Jiangxi Province.

Electro-acoustic components manufacturer Goertek, Beijing Baidu Netcom Science and Technology Co. Ltd., and HTC Communication Co., Ltd. topped the list.

First released in 2019, the list is produced by the Industry of Virtual Reality Alliance, with more than 30 experts in the VR industry participating in the ranking process this year.

LESS SALT TO PREVENT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

Researchers recently conducted an investigation into Chinese people's dietary habits and suggested they should consume less sodium and more potassium.

The research team collected data from a survey of more than 5,300 participants in six provinces of Hebei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Qinghai and Heilongjiang.

The results revealed the average sodium intake was over 4,300 mg per day (equivalent to 11 grams of salt), whereas the average daily potassium intake was below 1,600 mg.

Higher sodium intakes, lower potassium excretions, and greater sodium-to-potassium ratios were associated with higher blood pressure (BP), according to the research article published in the journal Hypertension.

5G IN HENAN

The populous province plans to increase the number of 5G users to 14 million with a total of 40,000 base stations by the end of the year, according to a provincial three-year action plan on stepping up the construction of 5G infrastructure and enhancing its application from 2020 to 2022. Enditem
