HANGZHOU, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Sony Toio, an interactive robot game console for children, won a gold award earlier this week at the fifth Design Intelligence Award (DIA) ceremony held in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

Toio is a hands-on educational toy platform with a mashup of tiny cube robots and game consoles. It shared this year's DIA gold award with Alibaba Cloud's industrial digital twin platform.

Hosted by the China Academy of Art and organized by the China Industrial Design Association and the Industrial Design Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, the 2020 DIA saw 7,369 contenders from 36 countries and regions.

Gao Shiming, president of the Hangzhou-based China Academy of Art, said more than 100 international design organizations, over 10,000 designers and nearly 30,000 works of design have been archived in the DIA database.

Established in 2015, the DIA is the first international academic award in the field of industrial design in China, and has received a total of 27,601 entries from 60 countries and regions. Enditem
