XI'AN, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The total value of imports and exports of northwest China's Shaanxi Province was 279.07 billion yuan (about 41.8 billion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters of the year, an increase of 7.2 percent over the same period last year, customs figures showed Friday.

The import and export volume of the province has grown for eight consecutive months since February with imports seeing double-digit rise, according to the customs of Xi'an, the provincial capital.

Shaanxi's agricultural exports reached 2.96 billion yuan, up 37.9 percent in the first three quarters, and exports of textile and clothing products totaled 2.91 billion yuan, a rise of 60.7 percent.

Thanks to the China-Europe freight train service, Xi'an customs has seen booming cross-border transport and e-commerce, said customs official Long Chengwei. Enditem
