NINGBO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The China Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) reported a soar in freight indices in the Thailand and Vietnam routes.

The NCFI, reflecting freight rate changes of 21 routes departing from the Ningbo-Zhoushan port, stood at 1,247.1 points on Friday, up 2.9 percent compared with last week.

The sub-index for the routes to Thailand and Vietnam stood at 809.8 points, up 43.6 percent compared with last week.

According to the Ningbo Shipping Exchange, as the demand for transportation in the market is high, the market freight rate has risen to a new high in recent years.
