BEIJING, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Artifacts unearthed from an archaeological site dating back to the late Shang Dynasty (about 1600 B.C.-1046 B.C.) are on display in the National Museum of China in Beijing.

It is the first large-scale public display of artifacts discovered at the Jiuwutou site in north China's Shanxi Province.

More than 170 items and sets of objects including sacrificial vessels and liquor containers are on exhibition, together with photos and videos showing the excavation process.

The excavation of the Jiuwutou site was a major breakthrough in the archaeological study of the Shang Dynasty, with hundreds of artifacts including bronze items, pottery and jade ware unearthed. Enditem
