DALIAN, China, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Frank Acheampong scored a brace as Tianjin Teda beat Dalian Pro 2-0 in the first leg of the 9th-12th place playoffs in the Chinese Super League here on Monday.

Tianjin broke the deadlock in the 11th minute as the Ghana striker scored an open goal after a mistake from goalkeeper Zhang Chong.

Three minutes later, Acheampong's fellow peer Emmanuel Boateng netted for Dalian. However, after a VAR ruling, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Acheampong was on target again in the 41st minute to help Tianjin lead 2-0 into the second half.

Rafa Benitez's side posed more of a threat than Tianjin in the second half, but no goals were scored.

The second leg will be played on October 31. Enditem
