XI'AN, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Xinjiang crushed Shandong 81-63 in the ninth round of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league here on Tuesday.

Xinjiang led Shandong 25-20 in the first quarter before gaining a two-digit advantage midway the second half with a 11-4 run. Shandong had difficulty narrowing the gap, trailing 51-32 before the half break.

Han Xu had a good offensive and defensive performance in the third quarter, and her team let the bench players play on the court before the final, putting the game beyond their rivals' reach in the fourth period.

Han Xu scored a game high 29 points, plus four blocks. Han's mate Wu Di earned 10 points and 11 rebounds.

After winning five games in a row, Xinjiang ranked the second on the league standings.

In the other game played on Tuesday, Sichuan defeated Zhejiang 103-71.

Gao Song of Sichuan pocketed double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Shao Ting of Sichuan finished the game with 12 points and three rebounds, although the 30-year-old played only 15 minutes.

Jiangsu, the bellwether of the WCBA, will clash with Shanxi on Wednesday. Enditem
