ZHANGZHOU, China, Oct.27 (Xinhua) -- Unbeaten Zhejiang edged defending champion Jiangsu 3-2 (19-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12) in the semifinals of the Chinese Men's Volleyball Championship on Tuesday.

Facing the defending champion, the young Zhejiang started a bit slowly, losing the first set 19-25. However, the vigorous team showed their tenacity then, taking the second set at 25-18. The two teams continued to trade the lead in the third and the fourth set.

In the deciding set, Zhejiang quickly rebounded after a lagging start and changed ends with Jiangsu at 8-5. With a stable pace, Zhejiang finally took the last set at 15-12.

Earlier this evening, the other undefeated team, Beijing brushed aside Shandong 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18) to advance to the final of the series.

"We did perform better in service than our rivals. We've just paid attention to every current round instead of the score. We are still a young team, hoping to improve through these critical games," said Beijing captain Jiang Chuan.
